Scripture
Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Quoted from King James Version (public domain).
The story
Why this verse
The Jazz Sessions version returns to Psalm 46:10 and sets the same command in a different light. Where the album’s earlier reading leans into quiet, this arrangement lets the truth breathe with movement — stillness as a living thing, not an absence of sound. The psalm’s invitation is unchanged: stop striving, and know that He is God. Be Still (Jazz Sessions) is a companion piece rather than a replacement, another angle on the same prayer.

Reflection
Sit with it
Stillness does not always mean silence. Where can you practise presence with God in the middle of a busy day?
A prayer
God who is with me in the noise, draw my attention back to You. Let the rhythm of this day become a prayer.
Amen.
